Extrusions

Project Statement
”Extrusions” is a series of ceramic sculptures that evoke narratives through the shaping of elongated profiles of figures through space and time. The figures are made of clay extruded through a custom die, creating building blocks that are contorted or bonded together into different shapes and formations. Evoking the motion blur seen in film photography and classic cartoons, the shapes of each piece becomes a history of its movement, suggesting different narratives, energies, or interactions between multiple figures.
